President Park Geun-hye has extended her condolences to British people over the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Presidential spokesman Yoon Chang-joong said the president mourned the death of the former British prime minister, saying Thatcher revived the economy of Britain in the 1980s and led her country into an era of hope.

In the tribute, Park also noted Thatcher’s special interest in promoting relations between South Korea and Britain.
