Shanghai Reports Another H7N9 Death

Upon the launch of a government investigation to prevent the spread of the H7N9 bird flu virus in China, Shanghai has reported another victim of the deadly virus.

Shanghai City’s local health authorities said that a 64-year-old man, who died on Sunday at a local hospital, was confirmed to have the virus.

That brought the total number of the H7N9-related deaths in China to seven.

The total number of H7N9 infections in China has reached 24 as an 85-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were confirmed infected with the virus in Jiangsu Province.
