The Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded a new high on Tuesday.

At the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones Industrial Average shot up 59-point-98 points, or 41-hundredths of a percent, to close at a record 14-thousand-673-point-46.

The S&P 500 index jumped five-point-54 points to one-thousand-568-point-61, while the Nasdaq Composite Index closed at three-thousand-237-point-86, up 15-point-61 points.

The increase came amid high expectations for corporate earnings in the first quarter and on projections that the Chinese government will continue to stimulate its economy.
