US Senators Respond to N. Korea's Anticipated Missile Launch

A handful of U.S. Senators have weighed in on North Korea's widely expected test-launch of a mid-range missile that could come any day now.

Republican Senator John McCain was reported saying in Foreign Policy magazine's column, The Cable, that if the North test-fires a missile, it should be shot down even if it's not aimed at an actual target.

Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee Democratic Senator Carl Levin said in an interview with CNN that Washington has to assume there will be a test launch. He said the U.S. military is ready with a variety of responses if there is an attack on South Korea or the U.S.

Republican Senator Kelly Ayotte appeared on Fox News and said the troubling 29-year-old North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is very unpredictable. She said the North must realize if it takes any action against the U.S or any of its allies, Washington has response measures prepared.
