South Korean dramas are seeing solid growth of their share in the global broadcasting program market.

South Korean dramas are penetrating the European market, as foreign buyers signed contracts to purchase them in this year’s international TV program and media market held in Cannes, France.

South Korean is also employing various strategies to boost its share in the European media market, such as the sale of the right to remake South Korean soap operas.

China’s CCTV proposed to co-produce a drama with KBS, opening a wider opportunity for South Korean dramas to reach international fans.

South Korean broadcasting programs are in the front line for further spreading the Korean pop culture boom overseas.
