Obama Submits $3.77 Tln Budget Plan to Congress

U.S. President Barack Obama has submitted a three-point-77 trillion dollar budget plan for fiscal year 2014 to Congress.

The budget plan centers on cutting social safety net programs with tax increases on the wealthy all in a bid to reduce the deficit by one-point-eight trillion dollars over ten years. In addition to the two-and-a-half trillion dollar in deficit cuts from past efforts, the budget plan aims for a total four-point-three trillion dollar deficit reduction.

The budget plan is likely to face much debate in Congress as both conservative and liberal forces are protesting it.
