EU Seeks New Anti-dumping Rules

The European Union is seeking new anti-dumping measures.

The EU said that it is planning to introduce a bill demanding companies hand over sensitive data to prove that some foreign products are sold below production costs in Europe.

The new rules don’t specify China by name, but EU officials explained that they are designed to ease companies' fears of retaliation in assisting investigations of an anti-dumping probe on Chinese businesses.

The rules will make it easier for EU trade authorities to launch anti-dumping investigations based on the collected data without complaints from businesses.
