Nobel Prize Sold at $2 Mln

Francis Crick’s Nobel Prize medal and diploma for his discovery of the DNA molecule’s double-helix structure was sold at two-million dollars at Heritage Auctions.

Crick’s family members said 20 percent of the proceeds will go to the Francis Crick Institute in the United Kingdom, while 50 percent will go to the Salk Institute for Biological Studies where Crick studied later in his career.

The Nobel Prize medal was bought by CEO of Biomobie, Jack Wang. He said he plans to use it to encourage scientists at his firm.
