Airplane Crash-lands Into Ocean in Bali; all Passengers Rescued

An airplane carrying some 100 passengers into Indonesia’s island of Bali had to perform an emergency landing into the ocean.

Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, a Lion Air plane with 108 passengers overshot the runway at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport and crashed into the sea.

The plane broke into two pieces and became partially submerged in the ocean as a result, but all passengers and flight crew were rescued.

Twenty-two passengers were injured due to the impact of the crash.

The Balinese police said two foreigners including one French national were in the airplane and said they were investigating the cause of the accident.
