Japanese media say Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is eager to hold a summit with President Park Geun-hye. 

Appearing on an Internet media program on Wednesday, Abe said he would very much like to meet Park in person though he did speak with the South Korean president over the phone shortly after her inauguration in March. 

On contentious issues surrounding South Korea and Japan, Abe said although the neighboring countries have several issues at hand, he believes it is important for the two countries to exchange their positions through dialogue.
