The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport investigating the crash landing of an Asiana Airlines passenger jet in San Francisco is questioning the captain and crew members of the airplane in the U.S.
The ministry said that investigators began questioning on Sunday afternoon, local time, to find out the exact cause of the incident, asking for details regarding the flight from the moment the Boeing 777 took off.
The ministry added that the probe was preliminary and investigators could question them again if necessary.
The ministry said that the captain of the plane is a veteran with 97-hundred hours of flight time, but he had just 43 hours on the Boeing 777.
The ministry said that he was in the process of getting a license for the 777 and he had flown the aircraft nine times.
The ministry also announced a plan to conduct a safety inspection on all Boeing 777 airplanes owned by domestic airliners until August 25th. Korean Air owns 37 and Asiana Airlines has eleven.
