A Chinese news outlet says North Korean leader Kim Jong-un plans to visit China this fall.
 
Haiwai Net, an online news network of the People’s Daily, said Wednesday that it came across the information through diplomatic sources in Beijing.
 
The news outlet targeting foreign viewers also said that a visit to Beijing last week by Kim Song-nam, the vice director of the International Affairs Department of the Korean Workers’ Party, was a prelude to the North Korean leader's planned visit to China.

The report said in the event Kim visits China, the trip will likely be based on a party-level rather than government-level.
