In its biennial Defense White Paper released on Tuesday, South Korea said North Korea is believed to have established a special operations battalion to eliminate key figures. 

The paper said the North's state media reported on the combat duties of the assassination battalion on November fourth, 2016.

The Defense Ministry said Pyongyang made continuous efforts to strengthen its special operations capacity, separately categorizing Special Forces Group as a military branch.
