S. Korea's Exports Rise 10.6% in First 20 Days of January

South Korea's exports rose over ten percent on-year in the first 20 days of January.  

According to tentative data from the Korea Customs Service on Thursday, the country's outbound shipments stood at 28-point-two billion U.S. dollars in the cited period, up ten-point-six percent from a year earlier.

Working days in the cited period stood at 14-point-five, unchanged from the same period last year. The daily average exports during the 20-day span grew by ten-point-six percent. 

Shipments of semiconductors and autos rose eleven-point-six percent and 15-point-seven percent, respectively, on-year, while exports of telecommunications devices jumped 60-point-five percent. 

Outbound shipments of petroleum products declined 45-point-six percent on-year amid low oil costs.

Shipments to China and the United States increased 18-point-six percent, each, while exports to Japan and the Middle East slipped ten-point-nine percent and 15-point-one percent, respectively.
