Ahn Cheol-soo of the minor opposition People's Party has vowed to continue making efforts toward realizing new politics. 

Ahn made the remark on Tuesday in a news conference at the National Assembly just several hours after conceding defeat to Oh Se-hoon of the main opposition People Power Party(PPP). 

The two took part in a key opinion poll conducted to field a single opposition candidate for the April 7 Seoul mayoral race. 

Ahn said though his challenge to become Seoul mayor stops here, his dreams and determination will not change. He stressed that he will continue his journey toward transforming South Korea through new politics, though it may be lonely and difficult. 

On the results for the single opposition candidate, Ahn said though he lost, he did so with principle. He then congratulated Oh and said he hopes Oh will win the mayoral race and pass judgement on the Moon Jae-in administration.
