The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, dropping three-point-53 points, or zero-point-38 percent, to close at 917-point-95.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened zero-point-one won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-330-point-five won.
