The Late Singer’s Son Inherits Father’s Legacy
It’s been 20 years since the late singer Kim Hyun-sik passed away. His son Kim Wan-je announced at the press conference marking the production of Kim’s commemorative album that he will pursue the music career just like his father. Kim Hyun-sik’s commemorative album is titled “Like Rain, Like Music.”

The younger Kim was attending a Canadian university when he returned to Korea in 2004 to fulfill his military duty. He has been preparing to debut as a singer for the past six years. Although Kim’s voice is sweet unlike his father’s husky and masculine voice, he has inherited the father’s rich emotions. He’s currently getting ready to release a solo album within this year.

Meanwhile, a number of famed Korean musicians are taking part in the Kim Hyun-sik commemorative album. They include Shin Sung-woo, Hong Kyung-min, Lyn, and Kim Kyung-ho. They will add their own personalities to Kim’s old hits and all the proceeds from the album sale will go toward the late singer’s memorial project.
