Tips on How to Wear Lilac
With fall fast approaching, it’s time to update your look in time for the new season. Today I’m going to introduce tips on how to wear lilac—one of the hottest hues for fall 2015.

Subdued, earthy tones along with lovely pastels are a must for Fall 2015, but there is always one color that pops out from all the rest—and that is, lilac. More of a pink toned purple, lilac has been shown across the runways for every season of 2014, and the color continues to be in fashion this year, marking itself out as the coolest of all pastel shades of the season. Also called “dusty” violet, lavender, orchid, bruised mauve among other names, the pinkish purple hue seems to have more staying power this year, perhaps even more so than marsala (deep wine hue), the official color of the year named by Pantone, a global color authority.

Designers are absolutely loving the pinkish purple hue, as displayed in everything from a wide variety of clothing designs, bags, shoes to lips, eyes, and nails. To incorporate the color into your wardrobe, start with your everyday office wear. Ditch your regular black pencil skirt for a soft lavender colored wool skirt and instantly take your look from plain to chic. Team up the skirt with a crisp white blouse featuring clean lines and a simple silhouette. Throw accessories to the mix—such as layered bracelets, cuffs, or a necklace—and complete the outfit with a pair of nude pumps. In addition, embrace a wide array of office wear staples in lovely lilac—such as knit tops, high-waisted wide-leg trousers, tight-fitting slacks, loose blouses, oversized knit tops to cardigans, blazers, and cocoon-style trench coats and more. On a day when you feel like going for a different look, swap your everyday black trench coat for a dusty violet colored trench and flaunt your fashion sense. Team up the trench with something as plain and simple as a black trouser and black knit top combo and top off the look with a pair of wedges.

Among other looks, all-lavender outfits were seen all over the runways. To take your fashion to the next level, opt for a lavender colored knit top teamed with a pair of loose slacks in the same or similar hue as the top and go all out. On a day when you feel like dressing up, opt for a lovely lilac colored flowy maxi dress teamed up with a lavender blazer. Top off the look with a pair of stilettos and you have a chic outfit.

In addition, play with a wide variety of lavender colored accesories—such as pumps, stilettos, mary jane’s, sneakers to satchels, tote bags, clutches and more and sweeten up your look!

Add lilac to your fall wardrobe now and stay stylish!
