Flares for Fall 2015
Fall is in full force and it’s time to up your style quotient! Today I’m going to introduce tips on how to wear flares—the of-the-moment pant style topping the trend charts.

From the runways to the streets, the flares are back with vengeance. Officially sweeping in as Fall 2015’s hottest pant silhouette, flares are a must-have this fall—giving us the perfect excuse to ditch our favorite skinnies. A nod to the 70’s-inpsired trends dominating the fashion scene, flares are definitely a fall fashion DO at the moment. If you’ve been looking to revamp your style in time for the new season, pick up a pair of stylish flares now and give your otherwise plain wardrobe a boost of style.

White flares
First up, among other styles, white flares are extremely popular this fall. While we tend to associate fall with darker colors, white is still very much “in” this season. To update your style, pick up a pair of white flares and instantly take your style from drab to fab. When it comes to flared pant styles this season, we are not talking about extremely-wide bell-bottoms, but wide enough and definitely not tapered to cover a decent part of your shoes—so do opt for medium-flared, high-waist styles. For the office, swap your everyday black skinnies for a pair of white flares and wear them teamed up with a crisp button down shirt—proven to be the season’s answer to smart casual look. Don’t forget to wear the shirt tucked in and opt for a thin belt worn around the waist for a cinched look.

Denim flares
Next, denim flares are seen everywhere this fall. Whip out those flared jeans hiding in the back of your closet and start creating eye-popping looks! When rocking denim flares this season, do remember to keep the top simple and sleek. According to stylists, it is best not to pair the denim flares with kimono tops, tunics, and/or anything hippie-inspired—otherwise, you run the risk of looking too costumey. Do opt for classic, timeless pieces such as a simple t-shirt, button-downs, and lightweight knits and wear them tucked in so you have a neatly proportioned top half. Complete the look with a pair of chunky wedges or super high heels depending on your preference and create a leaner look.

Cropped styles
Lastly, the cropped flares made a huge comeback this fall. With hems rising on the flares, the once-considered awkward-length flares are seemingly having their moment in fashion. Whether you opt for an extremely wide culotte (referring to the kind of pants usually knee-length or calf-length trousers cut full to resemble a skirt) or slim-fitting “baby bell” styles that hit a few inches above the ankles, cropped styles are extremely hot—a daring trend definitely worth trying this fall. Cropped flares pair well with just about any other fall staple you already have in your wardrobe—including but not limited to knit tops, button-downs, chunky sweaters, sweatshirts, blazers, biker jackets, and more. And since cropped boot-cut styles will show your shoes instead of hiding them, pair the cropped flares with your favorite shoe style trending at the moment—everything from mules (often referring to backless and close toed style of shoe), chunky wedges to haute couture sneakers can all do the trick.

Add flares to your fall wardrobe now and stay stylish!
