Car wash Pleats for Fall 2015

Car wash Pleats for Fall 2015
Today I’m going to introduce tips on how to wear the car wash skirt—the “it” skirt of the season.

According to the runways this season, car wash pleats are officially the new fall style for skirts. A nod to the fringe fad that’s been everywhere lately, dresses and skirts featuring separated pleats that literally look like the top curtain at a car wash—and thus aptly named “car wash” pleats—are the hottest fall trend definitely worth trying. The catwalks for Fall/Winter 2015 were filled with models sporting wearable iterations of THE skirt of the season in various designs, colors, and textures—and there is a little something for every taste.

The perfect transition piece to wear into fall, car wash pleats can work for the office and for casual wear. For the office, swap your everyday black pencil skirt for a carwash skirt and put together a little-bit-less conventional office look. As for the design, you can go for longer lengths featuring broad pleats in monochromatic hues such as creams, beiges, greys, blacks, and more. For instance, carwash skirts featuring clean lines and little detailing can be the perfect alternative to your regular pencil skirts and trousers. On a day when you feel like dressing up, opt for a grey carwash pleated skirt and wear it teamed up with something plain and classic as a tight-fitting black turtleneck. Complete the look with a pair of booties and you have a chic office look.

For casual outings, opt for those statement pieces such as mini dresses featuring carwash pleats and extremely long, maxi carwash skirts and go all out. For instance, a short, mini carwash skirt featuring overlapping flaps that create a swing can be paired with just about any other fall top such as a simple knit, crisp button-downs, biker jackets, blouson (a loose, short jacket drawn tight at the waist) and more. Pair with slides, ballet flats, sneakers, short booties, or over-the-knee boots depending on your fashion taste. For a night out on the town, ditch your usual mini dress and opt for a maxi sleeveless dress featuring wide, separated pleats and instantly create a chic outfit. Throw on a shawl or a cardigan for an elegant look and mix and match accessories such as cuffs and layered necklaces and top off the look with a pair of strappy heels and a clutch.

Add carwash pleated skirts to your fall wardrobe now and stay stylish!
