The mega-hit KBS drama series “Descendants of the Sun” may be over, but we are not over the makeup and fashion trends inspired by the drama’s main characters. Today I’m going to introduce tips on how to get that Kang Mo-yeon makeup look.

In the drama, beautiful actress Song Hye-kyo plays the role of Kang Mo-yeon, a doctor who falls in love with a captain of the Special Forces in the military Yoo Si-jin, played by Korean heartthrob Song Joong-ki. Song Hye-kyo’s makeup in the drama isn’t particularly strong, making the look actually achievable and wearable. Kang Mo-yeon’s flawless complexion and soft lips are courtesy of the ‘L’ brand, a popular K-Beauty brand. Being the spokesperson of the brand, Song Hye-kyo showed off the ‘L’ brand’s bestsellers in episode one—the two-tone lip bars and BB cushion.

Face Makeup
To attempt the Kang Mo-yeon makeup look, focus on creating a radiant complexion. Opt for a BB cushion compact and dab it all over the skin in a patting motion and get a natural-looking flawless complexion. Before applying the BB, don’t forget to prep the skin properly using a moisturizer and a primer to make it soft and silky. After applying the BB cushion, use a creamy concealer to camouflage dark circles and shadows under the eyes and pat gently to blend. To help set the concealer, instead of skipping the powder, do use weightless powder with a luminous finish and get that perfect porcelain-like effect. In addition, remember to keep cheek makeup to a minimum by dabbing on a cream blush in soft pinks and instantly give your face an extra glow.

Barely-there Eye Makeup
As for the eyes, Kang Mo-yeon rocks super natural, barely-there eye makeup look. Create straight eyebrows by using an eyebrow pencil similar to the shade of your hair and eyebrows and fill in the gaps, with more emphasis in the front. Keep the eye makeup super simple by dabbing on a nude glittery cream shadow all over the lid, focusing on the center of the lids to give them more dimension. For the most natural look, ditch your everyday black eyeliner and opt for a soft, dark brown eyeliner. Using the ‘T’ brand’s Backstage Gel Eyeliner, draw a very thin line in a downward direction following the slope of the eyes to get the illusion of a larger, rounder eye. Finish off by accentuating the lashes with a volumizing mascara—and you have Kang Mo-yeon’s sparkly eyes!

Lips
As for the lip makeup, Song Hye-kyo used different shades of the ‘L’ brand’s two-tone lip bar—including shades No.11 Juicy Pop and No.14 Dear Pink. Opt for soft colors such as lovely corals, pinks, or nudes and apply the lip product using a lip brush for a more even and precise application.
