Top 6 Summer Makeup Tips
Summer is here and it’s time for a style check! When the temperatures rise, your
wardrobe isn’t the only thing that needs an update. The new season also calls for a change in your beauty routine—and today I’m going to introduce the top six secrets to sweat-proofing your summer makeup.

Tip #1: Use lighter products
If you want to keep your makeup from caking and creasing, keep things light! Re-member, less is more when it comes to summer makeup. Stay far away from heavy makeup products and indulge your skin in lightweight products. Immediately swap out thick foundations for weightless tinted moisturizers and BB creams. In addition, avoid oily skincare products and opt for serum or gel formulated lotions.

Tip #2: Go almost naked
The summertime is always about letting your skin breathe. For a nice beachy look, you can skip the face makeup altogether and stick to a good quality concealer. After cleansing and moisturizing in the morning, dab on a concealer that matches your
skintone and camouflage any imperfections, dark circles and any reddened areas on the face. If you are not entirely comfortable with going nude, apply a small amount of tinted moisturizer or BB cream only where you need it—and warm up the skin with a hint of sheer bronzer for the most natural look.

Tip #3: Take time to prime
Professional makeup artists say the key to keeping makeup looking fresh and pretty is to use a primer. Remember, summer makeup is all about looking dewy and radiant—and all you need is a pea-sized amount of a primer that helps fight shine, create a smooth base, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores. Apply the primer right before your BB cream or concealer and you are good to go!

Tip #4: Choose creamy shadows and blushes
When sweat and powdery makeup products mix, the result is anything but pretty. Sheer cream eyeshadows and blushes tend to cake less and stay put in hot weather. For a lovely summer eye makeup look, opt for cream shadows in light pinks, peaches, soft browns, and metallics. For a more youthful glow, use a soft cream blush instead of your usual powder blush.

Tip #5: Make your eye makeup last
The key to keeping your eyemakeup intact is to use an eye primer. Before applying the cream shadow, dab on a primer to even out your eyelid skin tone. In addition, waterproof mascaras are your best friend during the hot summer months. Pick up a waterproof mascara and eyeliner now and stand the test of heat and sweat!

Tip #6: Swap out heavy matte lipsticks
This summer, ditch your everyday matte lipstick for one that’s super lightweight and just as pigmented. While lip glosses tend to be shiny and sheer, they are not always the best choice as they can get runny in the sun. During the hotter season, you can always switch between lightweight, sheer lipsticks and bold lip tints/stains. Experiment with lots of flashy hues such as vivid reds and plums and update your summer makeup!

Play with these tips and stay chic!
