BG: 사랑하잖아요 - 고현욱

There comes a time in life when nothing seems to go your way.
Someone once said that bad luck comes in streaks.

But then, life evens things up by providing you with great stuff that comes in streaks following all the unpleasantness.

Something like that happens to the main character of today's movie,
Someone Special.

But I like the Korean title 아는 여자
because it works on so many levels.

It means just someone I know,
and someone that knows.
Knows what?
Someone that knows what I never knew.
Someone that knows me better than I do.

Behold, a baseball player, played by Jeong Jae-yeong.
Bad enough his baseball career is going downhill...
his girlfriend leaves him,
and the icing on the cake?
He's doctor says he only has 3 months to live.

But the movie will I remind you,
life gives you some sour before showering you with the sweet.

This one is not entirely a tragedy.
Far from it.
It is a light-hearted, perky comedy.
With some astonishing characters.
And powerful lines and moments that will either move you
or really make you think.

Two words: Abrupt and Random!

These are the elements that I guarantee will make you
love this movie!

SONG BREAK: 모르죠 - 조영수

Two unlikely characters pair up.
The man played by Jeong is cynical, frustrated,
but at the same time, he more or less gave up
giving a damn about life... since he doesn't have
much of it to enjoy anyway!

While he is lost as to how he should
spend what little remains of his life,
or to find the best way to kill himself,
he encounters Lee Na-yeong's character.
Who he didn't know existed
even though she was always near him,
watching and appreciating him.

BG: 떠나줘 - 이결

He never knew she was his neighbor of 10 years already,
and from then until now,
she has been fascinated by him.

She loves to send strange requests
to radio shows with low ratings
so that her letters will always be aired.
And of course the prizes are always hers.

She uses those prizes to inch closer to him.
For example, a free cell phone to give him
so she can have his digits,
movie tickets so she can have
a legitimate excuse for a date.

Soon he learns there's so much more
to her and their relationship than meets the eye.
She slowly turns his life
upside down, but for the better.

One may fear she is disturbingly unusual,
but watch on and you will learn
that her love for him is one-of-a-kind, and it rubs off.

You may wonder if she is what he needs right now,
in this crazy, sticky, hopeless situation.
But watching her unorthodox philosophy and approach on love,
one cannot be amazed and moved!

SONG BREAK: 아는 여자 - Daylight
