Suh Hai-kyung

Suh Hai-kyung is one of the world's leading concert pianists and was one of the first ethnic Korean musicians to gain world acclaim.

She first gained fame after becoming the first Asian winner of the top prize at the prestigious Busoni Competition in 1980. Eight years later, Carnegie Hall in New York selected her as one of the world's top three pianists.

Born in Seoul, she has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Berlin, Philadelphia, London, Moscow, Frankfurt and many other cities worldwide.

Suh holds a bachelor's, master's and doctorate in piano from the Julliard School of Music in New York.

Known for her incredible stamina and power at the keyboard, she has taken out an insurance policy for her fingers worth one billion won.
