Joe Pino is a Canadian who is the first foreign winner of the Korea Rookie Boxing Championships in Seoul.

Arriving in South Korea in 2001, the former social worker has worked as an English conversation teacher for kindergarteners. He decided to take up boxing as a hobby and joined the BHA Boxing Club in the southern Seoul suburb of Seongnam.

In January this year, he defeated middleweight Woo Young-gi to win his first tournament. Citing his iron chin, stamina and solid straight punches as his strengths, Pino says he eventually wants to go for the nation's pro title.
