Artist Jason Hackenwerth

Artist Jason Hackenwerth has landed in Seoul's art scene! Originally from New York City, Hackenwerth is known for his oversized ephemeral universe of creatures, all made from balloons. His sculptures have roamed From New York City subways to the Venice Biennale and now to Jang Heung Art Park in Northern Seoul where his sculptures converse with pieces by Keith Herring and Takashi Murakami. There are 14 pieces on display in his exhibition titled, "Summer Song" that connote the feeling of being in a summer garden. "Balloons are magical" according to Hackenwerth as they unleash an exuberance of color and creativity wherever they go. His work is also currently on display at the Gana Art Center in Insadong.
