Richard Yongjae O'Neill(27) is a Korean American violist who recently came to Seoul to perform on the Tongyong International Music Festival's opening stage in October.

Violist Yongjae O'Neill released his latest second album, titled Lachrymae, which became an instant hit only three days after its release here. He has scheduled a concert tour for October to hit seven Korean cities in lieu of his new album's release.

The violist, the winner of this year's Avery Fisher award, has held many solo recitals and collaborative chamber music concerts with many other world renowned artists. His mother is a Korean adoptee who left for the United States in 1958.
