The main opposition People Power Party(PPP) has finalized a list of candidates to compete in the primaries for the Seoul and Busan mayoral by-elections on April 7.

Competing for the Seoul mayoral candidacy are former PPP floor leader Na Kyung-won, former Seoul City Mayor Oh Se-hoon, former lawmaker Oh Shin-hwan and Cho Eun-hee, the head of Seoul's Seocho district.

Former lawmaker Park Min-shik, former Bus​an Vice Mayor Park Sung-hoon, former National Assembly Secretary-General Park Heong-joon and former lawmaker Lee Un-ju will vie for the Busan mayoral candidacy.

The party nomination committee, however, did not reveal the percentage of votes won by each candidate in the public survey and voting by party members, as that could affect the primaries.

After one-on-one and group debates, the PPP is expected to name the final candidates on March 4 based on public polling.
