U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is urging the world to not "give in" to North Korea's "unpredictable behavior."
Clinton on Thursday stressed the need to be strong, patient and consistent and not give in to the back-and-forth, unpredictable behavior of the North Korean government.
She made the remarks at a hearing of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Clinton added that the United States has made clear it is prepared to resume the six-way nuclear talks, saying other members of the nuclear negotiations agree.
Clinton expressed satisfaction with the Security Council’s unanimous adoption of the presidential statement denouncing Pyongyang’s rocket launch, saying that the cohesive effort of concerned parties will eventually yield results.
North Korea boycotted the six-way nuclear talks following the U.N. Security Council statement. Pyongyang also said that it will restart nuclear facilities it had agreed to dismantle.
