Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao have reportedly agreed to cooperate to reopen the six-way nuclear talks.

Japanese media said that during their summit talks held in Beijing Wednesday, the two leaders agreed to remain cool-headed toward North Korea’s threats that it will conduct nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile tests. The two leaders also agreed to cooperate for the swift resumption of the six-nation talks.

Aso and Wen then agreed to exchange data and cooperate on preventive measures to fight the spread of swine influenza in the region.

Meanwhile, Japanese media added that Wen asked for Japan’s appropriate handling of issues concerning the controversial Yasukuni war shrine and expressed displeasure over Aso’s recent move to make an offering to the shrine.
