Bosworth Warns NK Against Nuclear Test

U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Bosworth, says North Korea will face consequences if it conducts another nuclear test. But he said the United States will keep the door open for dialogue with North Korea.

Bosworth made his comments after talks with South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan in Seoul Friday.

The envoy said he and Yu discussed "possible steps forward" in the stalled denuclearization process but declined to elaborate.

After talks with Yu, Bosworth met Unification Minister Hyun In-taek, senior presidential security adviser Kim Sung-han and South Korea’s chief delegate to the six-way nuclear talks, Wi Sung-lak.

Bosworth and the South Korean officials focused on seeking ways to resume the six-party nuclear talks, which have been stalled since December.

On Monday, Bosworth will head to Japan before making his way to Russia the following day. Before arriving in Seoul, he made a stop in Beijing.
