Russian Oil to Hit Asia Market after Pipeline Completion

Russian oil produced in Siberia will likely hit the Asian and Pacific markets sometime in the second half of next year.

Russian officials said Monday that the nation plans to begin supplying oil to the region starting in the second half of next year when its East Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline, which stretches over 46-hundred kilometers, will be completed.

Russia began the 29-point-five-billion dollar construction of the pipeline in 2005, which connects Taishet in East Siberia to Kozmino in the Far East.

The planned pipeline is expected to allow South Korea to secure oil from a supplier closer than those in Middle East, thus saving the nation on transportation costs.
