South Korea's chief delegate to the six-party nuclear talks will visit China on Tuesday for talks with his Chinese counterpart.

A Seoul Foreign Ministry official says Wi Sung-lak will meet with Wu Dawei in Beijing on Tuesday night.

The two are reportedly planning to coordinate bilateral stances on North Korea's detonation of a nuclear device and exchange opinions on the U.N. Security Council resolution which will likely seek sanctions on Pyongyang.

The two sides are also expected to agree that a joint international response to recent North Korean provocations is important to resolving the situation.
