Korea's UN Ambassador Named Committee Head

South Korea’s ambassador to the United Nations, Park In-guk, has been elected head of a committee for the 64th session of the U.N. General Assembly.

The General Assembly is comprised of six major committees. The one Park will be chairing will deal with energy, food shortages and climate change.

Park’s chairmanship will last one-year from September 15th, 2009 --- the day the 64th session begins.

Libya's Minister of African Affairs Ali Treki was elected to head the 64th General Assembly session.
