NK Ranked 17th in Failed States Index

A U.S. magazine ranked North Korea 17th among failed states. The position is down two notches from last year.

Foreign Policy magazine released its annual Failed States Index on Monday. Using 12 social, economic, political and military indicators, the magazine ranked 177 states on their vulnerability to violent internal conflict and societal dysfunction.

Somalia topped the list followed by Zimbabwe, Sudan and Chad.

South Korea ranked 153rd and was described by the index as a “stable” nation.
