Retired workers from public service sectors related to electronics and transportation will be sent to developing countries starting next year.

It was agreed upon during a government meeting held Wednesday to discuss measures on employment and the social safety net.

Once a database of retired public sector employees is created, it will be used to counsel individuals who want to work overseas.

Retirees in some 20 sectors including geographic information, oil field development, airport management and electronic trade will go abroad.

The government expects the dispatch will help Korean businesses win more projects in developing nations.
