Japan's Foreign Ministry has reportedly sought other ministries' cooperation in preventing North Korean nationals from receiving nuclear-related education and training.

According to the Yomiuri Shimbun, the Foreign Ministry asked for help from the Education Ministry and Economy Ministry.

The request is in line with U.N. Security Council Resolution 1874, which prevents North Korean nationals from receiving education on nuclear activites and nuclear weapons transportation system development.

Passed in mid-June, the resolution aims to ban the North from conducting further nuclear tests.

Members of Chongryeon, a pro-North Korea association of ethnic Koreans in Japan, send their children to Korean schools the organization runs in Japan.
