US Taking Measures to Deal with Cyber Attacks

The U.S. State Department says it remains concerned about additional cyber attacks on major U.S. government agencies.

Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters Friday that although there is currently not a high volume of attacks on the State Department’s Web site, such attacks are continuing.

Kelly added that the department is taking appropriate measures to deal with the attacks and any potential new threats.

He added that the department is unable to confirm South Korean intelligence reports that North Korea or its sympathizers may have staged the attack.

No major damage has been reported in Web sites of leading U.S. agencies.
