The United Nations has reportedly included nine North Korean individuals on a list of entities, goods and individuals that will be subject to sanctions.

Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun said Thursday that the U.N. Security Council has imposed sanctions on individuals and groups involved in Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs and has frozen North Korean assets abroad in the wake of the North’s latest nuclear test.

The nine blacklisted individuals are mostly either key figures from a Yongbyon nuclear reactor research center or the heads of trading companies that are suspected of dealing in nuclear and missile materials.

It marks the first time for the Security Council to target individuals in the imposition of sanctions.
