Japan has expressed strong support for Korea’s hosting of the Group of 20 global financial summit next year.

In a news conference after meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan in Tokyo on Wednesday, Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada promised to provide as much support as possible for Korea’s summit hosting.

Okada said the G20 summit is a highly important gathering attended by influential leaders the world over. He then congratulated Korea on the honor it was bestowed.
