KCNA: N.Korea, China Sign Accords

North Korea and China have signed various accords in a wide range of areas, including a pact on economic assistance.

The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency said Monday that officials of the two countries met at the Mansudae Assembly Hall, the North's parliament, in Pyongyang on Sunday.

According to the report, the two sides signed accords and memoranda of understanding on economic and technological cooperation, cooperation and exchange between educational institutes, cooperation in software industries, and a pact allowing groups of Chinese tourists to travel to the North.

The report said North Korean Premier Kim Yong-il and the Secretary of the Central Committee of the North’s Workers' Party Choe Thae-bok attended the signing ceremony. China, on its part, was represented by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, head of the international department of China’s Communist Party Wang Jiarui, and top nuclear negotiator Wu Dawei.
