New Scenic Road on Mt. Baekdu Completed

A scenic road that links key tourist destinations on and around Mount Baekdu on the North Korea-China border has opened.

China’s state-run Xinhua News said Tuesday that construction of the road linking some 30 tourist hot spots of the mountain has been completed.

The 177-kilometer sightseeing road starts at the mountain’s nature reserve area and hits each of the mountain’s southern, northern and western peaks.

The road will enable travelers to see all the attractions Mount Baekdu has to offer in a single day. Previously, it took two to three days for travelers to see all of the mountain's key tourist spots.
