The international relief organization “Samaritan’s Purse” says its president is visiting North Korea to meet with high-level North Korean government officials and to check on aid projects run by his agency.

According to U.S.-based Radio Free Asia on Wednesday, a spokesman for the aid group said Franklin Graham arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday by way of private jet.

Upon his arrival, Graham presented equipment and supplies worth 190-thousand U.S dollars for a new dental center being built in Pyongyang.

During his visit, he will go to a provincial hospital powered by a system of generators installed jointly by Samaritan's Purse and the U.S. Agency for International Development.

According to North Korea’s official Korean Central Broadcasting Station on Tuesday, Graham said upon his arrival that he visited North Korea to help improve relations between the U.S. and the North.
