Russia Urges NK to Stop Launching Missiles

Russia urged North Korea on Thursday to refrain from launching missiles.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said in a news briefing that Moscow will not overlook the North’s recent launch of five short-range missiles into the East Sea.

The spokesman added that Russia supports the active implementation of U.N. Resolution 1874 that sanctions Pyongyang.

He stressed that related countries should exercise the power of self-control and refrain from making moves that could aggravate already mounting military and political tensions in the region.
