Two high-level officials from North Korea and the U.S have met during the Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue in San Diego.

A participant of the meeting between the North American affairs chief for the North Korean Foreign Ministry Ri Gun and U.S. special envoy to the six-party nuclear talks Sung Kim says the meeting was a chance occurrence on the sidelines of the dialogue.

No further information has been disclosed in regards to what the two officials discussed.

The three-day Northeast Asian dialogue will end with a news conference on Wednesday.

Hosted by the University of California at San Diego, the conference has brought together officials and scholars from the nations participating in the six-party nuclear talks.
