China has decided to participate in South Korea’s 2012 Yeosu World Expo.

China delivered the official notice to the Seoul government after a ceremony in Beijing among the expo organizing committee, the South Korean embassy in China and China's international trade promotion committee.

The notice follows a vow Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao made to President Lee Myung-bak on October eleventh in Beijing to have his country take part in the expo.

The organizing committee expects China's participation to lead to an increase in the number of Chinese tourists visiting South Korea.
