South Korea and the European Union (EU) have set up a channel for economic policy dialogue.

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance held the first working-level economic policy dialog with the EU for the first time on Wednesday. The ministry said South Korea and the EU will hold these talks annually amongst the vice ministers.

About ten officials from both sides, including the director-generals and the EU ambassador to South Korea, attended today’s meeting.

The EU is South Korea’s second largest trading partner in volume, following China. It is also the largest investor in South Korea.
