S.Korea, China to Cooperate in Privacy Protection

The Korea Communications Commission and Chinese officials in Beijing have agreed to closely cooperate on preventing online misconduct related to privacy invasion, hacking, viruses and illegal spam.

As part of the agreement, South Korea and China will join efforts to prevent Korean resident registration numbers from being hacked into and exposed on Chinese Web sites.

The commission plans to soon hold similar privacy protection talks with Japan.
