Korean Gov't in LA to Sternly Deal with Japan’s Dokdo Claims

The Korean government both at home and abroad is reiterating that it will deal sternly with Japan’s latest sovereignty claim over Korea’s Dokdo islets in the East Sea.

The South Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles says it will take strong and uncompromising measures against any Japanese territorial provocation related to Dokdo.

The remarks come after the Japanese Consulate General in Los Angeles was found to have sent a letter of protest to a Korean American who put up a billboard advertisement on an L.A. highway emphasizing Korean sovereignty over Dokdo.

The Japanese Consulate General demanded that the advertisement be taken down.

Organizations of Korean expatriates living in Los Angeles will hold a rally in response to Japan’s Dokdo claim in front of the Japanese Consulate General on Friday.
