Chinese Exports of Cabbage to S.Korea Surge

Sharp hikes in the price of Chinese cabbage used to make kimchi have resulted in a huge surge in the amount of the vegetable imported from China.

China’s official Xinhua News reported that the amount of Chinese cabbage exported from Shandong Province to South Korea in August and September was 32 percent higher year-on-year.

Xinhua added that it expects China’s exports of the vegetable to South Korea to continue increasing following Seoul’s move to scrap tariffs on imports of Chinese cabbage.
